Static Footrest Components
Seating Dynamics static footrest components consists of a combination of footplates, one piece footboards, angle adjustable joints and footrest interface adapters and are available for use on most wheelchairs.
Our angle adjustable joint is the only bullet proof joint available. Common angle adjustable footrest joints simple clamp a footplate mount around a round axle. Our joint is made from precision machined steel and aluminum components. It is based on a 1" X 48 tooth serrated male axle with a female clamp providing 7.5° of incremental adjustment. The clamp slides on to the axle then is secured with a clamp screw, eliminating even the slightest chance of movement. . It simply will not move and is guaranteed not to fail.
Shown above in the Plantar / Dorsi and Inversion / Eversion configuration. In the P/D configuration it is supplied with ¾” extension tubes, draw bolt and conical wedge it is compatible with most wheelchair footrest downtubes and can be supplied with either individual footplates or our one piece flip up footboard.
Super Contracture Footrest
A step beyond the normal use or our angle adjustable knee and Plantar / Dorsi joinst, the SCF can easily support the most seriously contracted lower extremities. The key is an offset reversed hanger which moves the footrest assembly laterally in an inch and 2½ʺ posterior. This allows the footrest to be set at a much tighter angle, approaching 180°. Seat to Floor Height, caster size and other aspects of each individual wheelchair will effect just how far you can go, but the SCF will allow you to climb to heights previously out of reach.
Currently available for our Epic, the SCF will soon be available for the Solara and Iris followed by other chairs on an as need basis. Sold as a K0108, and priced as an each, per side. It is compatible with our 1 Piece Flip-Up Footboard.
